I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Toast Inc
Interview
Overall good interview experience, The recruiter is informative of what to expect on each interview and how to best prepare. There were not any surprises but you should come prepared with many behavioral situations to discuss.

Interview
Pros:
The recruiter I worked with was friendly and very proactive. She consistently followed up with me during the process and was always available to jump on a call. I greatly appreciated her professionalism. I also enjoyed my conversation with the hiring manager though many of the “behavioral” questions felt outdated and not particularly useful.
Cons:
Unfortunately, Toast has become one of those companies that makes candidates spend an inordinate amount of time to prep for their 1.5 hour panel interview. They wanted a detailed prospecting plan and restaurant analysis drawn up. While they say they don’t want candidates to spend more than 2-3 hours on this, realistically I estimated the prep time would’ve been at least 8-10 hours to prepare a quality presentation. I’ve interviewed at many other higher caliber companies in my sales career that never made candidates perform what is essentially free work prior to extending an offer. Ultimately, this was a massive red flag for me and I ended up declining to move forwards in the interview process and accepted a better offer elsewhere. Obviously, with the tightening tech labor market, Toast feels the need to create more hoops for candidates to jump through, but I found it to be frankly ridiculous. I imagine most sales professionals who opt to go through such a process are likely desperate and have no other options.

Question 1
If you were at the end of month and not at quota, how would you get creative to hit your number?
Thank you for taking the time to interview with Toast. Through our interview process, we hope to give candidates the opportunity to learn what the role entails and meet with multiple members of the team so that we can ensure the position is the right match for everyone. I'm sorry to hear the interview process felt extensive and I will be sure to share your feedback with the team.
Interviewer seemed annoyed my phone number wasn't on my resume, though I'd emailed it to her right before our scheduled call time so she would have it handy. Unfortunately, the interviewer seemed disinterested during our call.
