The test project was uncannily similar to features of the game they are working on.
They suggested spending 8 hours on the test, which is an unreasonable amount of time for a pre-employment evaluation test by any standard, but to do the actual project without sacrificing quality would require a lot more time no matter the skill level of the applicant.
