      Infrastructure Analyst Interview

      31 Jan 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Chicago, IL
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at TransUnion (Chicago, IL)

      Interview

Interview process was off to a good start. A recruiter found me and interviewed me, within an hour I received a callback to talk to the hiring manager via phone the next week. Phone interview went well. This is kind of a junior role, so the questions were more behavioral. Received a call back to go in 1 on 1 with the hiring manager, then a group panel with the team. That's where things took a turn. Since we've already talked it wasn't much to discuss with the hiring manager so it seemed he just came up with anything to ask that had nothing to do with the role. I've never in my career got questioned on my education "Why did it take you so long to get your Bachelors? " "Are you sure you received your Masters in a year?" Multiple times asked, "You have an MBA why do you want this position, I'm still so curious?" Totally threw me off, 1 that isn't the resume I submitted with year range. 2 at the end of the day I have my degrees. 3. I wanted a career change so it should look like a positive than a negative for someone to take a risk. The hiring manager was culturally unaware of anything and the team also kept digging as to why I left the same position which I answered multiple times and also cursed a lot. This would be a great company to work for but the team, not so much, very very unprofessional. A candidate should be respected.
