The whole process started off odd, I got an email from a "Manager, Talent Acquisition" following up on an email she said she sent regarding a phone screening for the position. I never received the initial email and didn't find it in my junk/spam. I did in fact confirm I applied for the position about 30 days prior to receiving the email. I let her know I was interested and scheduled an interview with her, it got moved 2 or 3 different times. Finally, after sitting for ten minutes on the most recent appointment time, I emailed her asking if we were still good for the interview. She immediately called me and apologized and said it was missing from her calendar or something. This was fine, no big deal.
She then goes into this long diatribe about how Transformco believes in a transparent, expedited job interview, how she doesn't like to leave candidates hanging, and they would let candidates know they haven't been selected as early as possible. This turned out to be the most memorable part of the interview and ill mention why below.
Interview was fine, resume overview, clear explanation of the role, salary, expectations, etc. There were maybe 5-6 questions I had to answer that were relevant to the role. Anyway, it concludes and she tells me she is sending over my information to the hiring manager and I would hear back in a week and if I don't to reach out to her. Pretty standard, a week goes by and I follow up. She replies "I will reach out to the hiring manager on your behalf, Please feel free to keep following up to see if a decision has been made" 30 days later, I follow up again and I get the same response and she adds "Please know that no hiring decision has been made yet, and you are welcome to keep following up". I never heard back again and didn't reach out, thinking back on her initial talk about how much they value candidates time and are not a company to leave people hanging I can't help but laugh. This is an extremely unprofessional organization. As of this time my application (initially sent in early May) is still in pending status.
