Applied for a IT position managing IT equipment in the retail stores. Had the basic HR interview over the phone, which was very standard. Had a phone interview with the hiring manager next. Manager seemed that he already had his mind made up before the interview even began and seemed like it was a huge hassle for him to be doing an interview. He seemed like the type of person you would never be able to please no matter what your answers were. He asked a few basic technical questions but overall I got the feeling he was looking more for someone who would fit in with company culture more than anything. Kind of reminded me like he was still living in high school still.
He asked what salary range I was looking for and I told him the market range for the area. He seemed to balk at that. Seemed like they wanted someone with lots of technical abilities/experience and the ability to travel frequently but were not willing to come close the to market rate for pay. Manager also seemed very close minded when it came to utilizing different brands of equipment than what they currently use. Even if I was offered the position I wouldn't of taken it based on how the manager acted. Seemed like he would been very difficult to work with.
