I had an initial phone interview with HR, 3 video interviews that included one with the company President, and also an office interview with 2 people in person. Everything was proceeding very well and they told me multiple times that I had a great background for the position. The HR Director told me she thought I was a great fit for the job. I had a video interview with the President that I also thought went well. After that video interview, all communication went silent and I heard nothing. When I reached out to get feedback, I received a very cold, short, and curt email that I was not selected.
When someone spends that much time during an interview process, and takes time off from work to come to your office to interview, and even speaks to the President of your company in a video interview, they deserve a polite phone call letting them know they were not selected for the job. My opinion of this company was great before, and now it is very negative. My advice: don't string a candidate along and keep telling them they are a great fit for the job, and then suddenly act cold and like they did something wrong.
