I applied online. I interviewed at TruTechnologies (Research Triangle Park, NC) in Apr 2026
Interview
Everyone I spoke to was very friendly, especially the recruiter because she was great a communicating throughout the whole process. Initial screening interview is your typical behavioral questions: Tell me about yourself, when was a time you had to pivot quickly, why do you want to work for our company, what do you like about software development, You then move on to the technical interview in your language of choice with a manager who is also very nice. First, you talk in depth about a project on your resume that you are proud of. Then, you solve a small challenge like reversing the words in a sentence, which is meant to test your understanding of Big O and memory management. Finally, you design an API using OOP principles. There are a few more interviews after that with team members and management. I think the company really values a "go-getter" attitude so make sure you get that point across on your resume and in your interviews.
Interviewer, who is the HR, was super friendly and asked the right questions. I would say prepare your resume and be ready to articulate what projects you have done related to the role. A good preparation for the interview would get noticed and appreciated.
