      I interviewed at Trulioo

      Interview

I recently interviewed for one of the senior-level positions at the company and had an initial conversation with the recruiter. Honestly, it was one of the most surprising interview experiences I’ve had because the position title, responsibilities, and compensation expectations were completely misaligned. The role was listed as a senior position, but the compensation range reflected something much closer to an entry-level or intern-level salary. The recruiter was not even able to clearly explain or justify the compensation structure. Candidates do market research. They understand salary benchmarks and industry expectations before applying, especially for senior-level roles. When someone applies to a senior position, they expect alignment between responsibilities, expectations, and compensation. What made it more surprising was the scope of the role itself. The position expected experience across multiple domains at once: on-call responsibilities, product security, software engineering, cloud security, programming, and broader security expertise. It effectively combined several specialized roles into one position while offering compensation that did not reflect that scope. I have interviewed with many companies, but this was one of the few times I saw such a significant mismatch between title, expectations, and compensation.
