The interview process first began with a "phone interview" which was mostly a background check and a mini research exercise to see if you actually researched the company.
I was then tasked to make a write up of how I would solve an anomaly detection problem. After the write up was accepted, I was then tasked on implementing the project along with a write-up outlining my findings. The project is definitely a time crunch and can honestly be a summer internship project all on its own.
The project was honestly pretty fun, but after a week of submission I received a generic rejection email. I then reached out to the manager to ask for any feedback on my project, but I didn't get any specifics.
Not sure if the company does this, but I got the impression that the interview project was just an excuse to get free labor and get new ideas.
