      Marketing Director Interview

      15 May 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Toronto, ON
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Turo (Toronto, ON) in Dec 2022

      Interview

I recently went through the interview process with Turo and feel compelled to share my experience with others. The interview process consisted of an initial HR screening, followed by an interview with the hiring manager and a case study. However, my experience took a concerning turn after the case study submission. Upon completing and submitting the lengthy case study, I never received any further communication from Turo. I had to proactively reach out to HR multiple times, seeking feedback and an update on the status of my application. Unfortunately, it took a frustrating three weeks before I finally heard back from HR. To my dismay, the feedback I received was disheartening. Not only was my case study not chosen, but the feedback provided was completely irrelevant to my submission. This raised serious concerns and led me to question the company's integrity. Furthermore, it's worth noting that the position for which I applied had been posted for a staggering eight months, yet to this day, no one seems to have been hired for it. I am now suspicious that Turo may simply be using the guise of case studies to solicit ideas from candidates without any intention of hiring. It's troubling to think that they might be exploiting applicants' efforts and creativity for their own gain. In conclusion, I want to caution others about the unprofessional hiring practices and lack of communication I experienced during the interview process with Turo. Proceed with caution when considering Turo as a potential employer.
