I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at TxDOT (Houston, TX) in Aug 2025
Interview
Gave me a piece of paper with a list of questions and gave me 10 minutes to write my answers for each question. After the 10 minutes passed I answered them word for word what I had written. It was simple enough.

Just a simple four question statements and multiple parts. Not every Technical but definitely insightful and deep questions needed to be answered. Mainly what engineering principle I used in my daily life.

They had ask me about what I was currently doing right now in my life.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at TxDOT (Austin, TX) in Mar 2021
Interview
It was a panel interview with 3 professional engineers in the department. They had a set of 7-10 questions and gave me 10 minutes to read it in front of them and come up with my answers. They let you skip questions and come back to them but all of your responses were recorded on a score sheet by each of the engineers. Answering the set of questions were easy enough but the engineers weren't very talkative or personable and didn't seem to care to ask me anything about myself but only about my internship experience and how I would handle different scenarios in the workplace. Definitely the most awkward interview I've ever done. They also told me to look out for a follow up email with next steps but then I never heard from them again and only was able to keep track of my status via the online portal. Given the awkwardness and lack of personal connection, I probably wouldn't have accepted an offer even if they did offer one.
