I applied online. I interviewed at U.S. General Services Administration (Washington, DC) in May 2011
Interview
I applied online through the typical government process. There is a survey to file out as well as several forms. This is a prerequisite to an in person interview. It is not difficult but be prepared to answer potentially long narrative questions and pay attention to using words associated with specific skills or knowledge required for the position.

Interview
Call was an introduction to GSA phone call and to explore personal capabilities. Turns out it's another recruiter gate keeping based on personal subjective opinions. Got email that I was denied to move forward when the meeting wasn't an interview and there was no reason explanation provided. When I asked for clarification was ghosted.
I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at U.S. General Services Administration (Washington, DC) in Feb 2013
Interview
Really, the interview processes at this level seem to change depending on the interviewers more so than on a particular specialization. Over the past several years, promoting from within has pretty much ceased to exist so, if you’re looking for a leadership position and you couldn’t get one at your current Agency, try GSA!
