I applied online. I interviewed at UC San Diego (La Jolla, CA) in Jul 2017
Interview
HR handles all initial screening. It depends on the department, but they may do a phone screen before bringing you in. Normally meet with a panel of 3-5 others, including the HR rep. Sometimes bring you back for a final round to meet with the person you will be supporting.

Question 1
Typical questions; tell me about a difficulty you had with a co-worker and how you handled it, tell me about a time when you had to deal with a difficult customer or stakeholder and how you handled it.
I didn't hear back, the status just changed in the job portal without any notification. Would have appreciated an alert of some kind. The interview started on time and I was just asked standard personality questions.

Interview
Interviewed for a few positions in different departments via Zoom. Unfortunately, didn't get to reach the final interview for all positions. In general, there will be at least 3 interview stages by 3 or more panel interviewers. They usually have a list of questions and each panel interviewers will take turn to ask questions. Questions are not difficult to answer but there are usually no follow up questions. So basically, the panel interviewers will not ask further questions which is not in their list as if they are not interested to find out more. In the end, some departments will revert via email about the outcome of interview but some didn't.
