      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at US Army (Rock Island, IL)

      Interview

As usual with most government jobs, this interview was comprised of a panel of people--generally four as was the case for me. They were unrelated to my current area of work but employees from across the Island. This is both good and bad for the interviewee. The good point: you could probably easily impress the panel by just sounding knowledgeable and exhibiting a great deal of confidence. The bad point: You could just as easily confused the panel. You could also fail to say the "buzz words" the panelists have been instructed to listen for. Yes. These panelists are coached or spoken to in advance by the manager so they may have been told what to look for.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

I don't quite recall a difficult question. Most of these interviews consist of standard questions that panelists don't deviate from.

      Interview

Had to pass a computerized sectioned test then pass a physical. Did basic combat and survival training for 9 months. During this time you are expected to have attained at least a 70 percent or more of the army's standards fitness level. Then completed Advanced Individual Training for my selected job. At the completion of this level you are expected to have attain 100 percent fitness level of the army's fitness standard.During that process a background check was being conducted to insure I could obtain a secret security clearance.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at US Army (Phoenix, AZ)

      Interview

You spend all day at MEPS getting poked and prodded by old men in lab coats. You'll do the duck walk in your underwear with 20 other guys. They'll take blood AND urine, check your teeth and cup your balls. Then the oldest guy there will take you into a small room, have you drop your pants, turn around, bend over, and spread your cheeks so he can look at your pooper.

      Question 1

      Have you ever used marijuana?
