tells them about your, your interests, future goals, why you want to join the lab, strengths and weaknesses, what you would like to gain from the experience and other stuff like that.
For most of these positions I recommend reaching out to the professor you are interested in working with and ask them to work in their research lab. It helps to read their research papers beforehand as well to get a better idea.

It was mainly based on the previous works I have done and some basic questions from my area of expertise and behavioral questions to see if I am a good match for the team or not
