      Professional Learning Specialist Interview

      10 Oct 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Chicago, IL
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Umoja (Chicago, IL) in Aug 2018

      Interview

Involved a screening and then a video interview. Screening went very well. Interviewer was professional and respectful. Follow up video interview involved two interviewers one of which was extremely tired and looked bored. It was actually inappropriate how uninvested they both seemed in the interview and actually impacted my performance. (I started to ask them - are you serious? wake up! It's only 10am) Lots of questions, some good questions but some repetitive. After this stage, the company was not transparent regarding timing of next steps. Actually never heard back from the company after my second interview. This was disappointing, given how highly I viewed the company and how much effort I put into the interview process. Good thing I just happened to look to see if the position was filled online (which of course it was -- it's been over 2 months with no update on the position). Ultimately I'm pretty okay with it all, because it's not good to work for a company that doesn't value its interviewees.
