Interview
I had an exploratory interview with the hiring manager and unfortunately it wasn't a good match. However the manager was very candid and gave me good feedback, something I rarely see from hiring managers.

Interview
The interview process for the HR Coordinator position began with a phone screen with the recruiter, followed by an in-person panel interview with the team, and a final one-on-one interview with the hiring manager.
The phone screen with the recruiter was fine, but it quickly became clear they didn’t have a strong understanding of the role. Several things they mentioned about the position were later corrected by the hiring managers, which created some confusion.
The panel interview with the team was awkward and felt more like a challenge than a discussion. It was clear that I had more experience than one of the senior HR generalists, which made the interview dynamic tense. The panel also didn’t seem to understand how to interpret resumes—they assumed skills listed on mine were roles I’d previously held.
The hiring manager’s interview, in contrast, was a much smoother experience. They clarified the actual requirements of the role and created a more positive and professional atmosphere. Overall, while the process ended on a good note, the lack of preparation and clarity during the earlier stages detracted from the overall experience. Funny its 2024 almost 2025 and recruiter gave me a physical application to fill out which was so weird.
