To clarify, the internship is indeed a paid position. Additionally, a vehicle is not a requirement for hire. To address your first point, as the president of this company, I would have to disagree with your suggestion that we hire just anyone. We spend a great deal of time getting to know each candidate to ensure a great fit for each position. We are, in fact, extremely selective during our 3-round interview process. With that being said, the position you interviewed for is an entry level position, which means that a person with little work experience has an opportunity to join our team and work their way up. The management training program to which you applied provides individuals with an opportunity to gain hands-on business experience in so many areas, of which sales is only a small part. The main focus is actually on leadership development. We train our team on so many business essentials including management, human resources, interviewing, recruiting, training methods, finance, and public speaking--just to name a few. These are important skills no matter which direction a person decides to go in--either to advance in our company, or move on elsewhere. At the very least, this is an excellent resume-builder that makes a person a more valuable professional. As a well-educated person myself, I went through the same management training program, NOT because I wanted an entry level position, but because (a) I wanted the real-life business training and (b) because I knew I could advance based on my own hard work and create something much bigger for myself. Our management training program is especially popular with recent college graduates who are looking to gain business experience and/or advance into a management role.
