I am skilled at cutting to the chase as a Project Manager and asked specifically for an opportunity to forward a full portfolio of awards, recommendation letters, and specialized certifications relating to the position. i was told that was not "her job" to assess. Every time she asked a question, I answered with another question asking the context of the hypothetical situation that would better highlight skills, aptitude and knowledge of the actual job rather than my personality. The recruiter did not even understand their own business. When I asked what differentiated UTI from many competitors in the area, she ended the interview and my rejection came within 30 seconds via email.
"Thank you for taking the time to speak with me. At this time, we have decided to pursue other candidates whose qualifications more closely match those of the position. We encourage you to review other open positions at www.uti.edu. We wish you all the best in your career search."
My qualifications were never discussed, just how I interact in supervisory situations. When trying to discuss technical, the recruiter did not even understand the business.
The fact that their recruiter could not differentiate UTI from their competitors, shows the corporate culture needs work and not everyone is on the same page with the corporate message.
