Interview
The hiring process overall was great — HR was super responsive, and the first interview with the Product Manager went really well. Unfortunately, I was rejected after the second round with the CTO. What feels off is that the job description mentioned I'd report to the VP of Design, yet I didn’t even get a chance to connect with her before being rejected. For any designer, feedback from the Design lead would make a huge difference.
Hopefully, UrbanFT’s upper management will consider this in future hiring processes.

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Urban FT (New York, NY) in Mar 2019
Interview
There was a phone screener which lasted about 30 minutes. The interviewer was friendly and personable, and gave me a good impression of the company. Afterwards I was given a few days to complete a UX Research Task.
The next step was an in person interview with a UX Researcher and Senior UX Designer. They asked me typical questions for the field. It seemed like they wanted to get a feel of how I handle challenging situations, what my UX process is like, and if my personality would fit with their team. The interviewers were thorough and honest, giving a lot of insight into the company culture, processes, and challenges.
Finally, a second in person interview with more senior team members. During this interview I answered similar questions to the first in person interview. I also presented my Research Task, and answered questions about it. Since this interview was with more senior members of the team, I was able to get a lot more insight into how Urban FT has grown from its inception, and what the future holds.
All in all it was one of the best interviewing experiences I've experienced. The team was incredibly friendly, open, and honest about life at Urban FT. After working here for about a month I see that everything they said has held true.
