I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at VLTRA Group (Vero Beach, FL) in Sept 2014
Interview
Creative Director job posted on Craigslist for their new headquarters location in Vero Beach, FL. I responded with an email cover letter and attached resume and within 8 days received a telephone call. I was not home at the time, but did return the call the next morning. The person did not have my resume in front of him. He seemed totally distracted and had me wait on the phone listening as he fumbled around some. (Perhaps it was paperwork on his desk. It's not clear). He did not seem to have any direct questions. He asked if I knew Adobe software, which of course, I told him that I did. From there he only wanted to impress me with how important the company was and what important work they do. He asked if I had a portfolio so he could see my work. Yes, I said, and I would be happy to share it with him during an interview. He said he didn't have time and so I volunteered to send him a follow up email with links. He said okay and hung up. Overall, he seemed a mixture of egotistical and condescending in his attitude on the phone.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The most difficult thing seemed to be holding conversation with this person who seemed to be distracted and not focused at all on me, the job, or on the conversation at hand. I'm not holding my breath for any follow-up. I'm not clear they really want to fill the position since he mentioned relying on contract workers for most of their current needs.
