I applied for a remote DevOps engineer position via LinkedIn. I was contacted by email a few days later asking for my salary expectations and availability for a first round interview. I gave my availability and I stated that I was unwilling to give my salary expectations without getting the salary range first. I was ghosted at this point, but I didn't think much of it, it happens all the time.
I was contacted two months later by the same person asking if I was still interested and to share my salary expectations. I had started a new position the day before this so I had no interest in pursuing this and ignored the email, as they had done with me.
I was then contacted another two months later, a full four months since the initial communication, by a different person that informed me that they've chosen a different candidate. Good for them.
TLDR: They don't know what they're doing, don't waste your time.
