Had read really positive things, and the lead-up to the interview was very positive.
The interview itself was strange - no warm-up question, instead the interviewer just spoke about themselves. After a few questions, they cut me off mid-answer, so I could not answer fully. The interviewers were not that friendly.

The interview process for a data engineer at VWV Bristol typically involves an initial screening, an online or in-person skills assessment, and one or two subsequent interviews with the team and management. The first stage often includes an initial call with a recruiter or early talent coordinator to discuss details and mutual interest. This is followed by an assessment which may be a written test or skills-based task to evaluate technical abilities like SQL and coding problem-solving. The final stages typically consist of one or more interviews, which could be one-on-one or a panel format, focusing on a mix of behavioral questions, technical knowledge, and a deeper dive into past experience and problem-solving skills.
The interviewers were lovely and the whole time it felt like more of a conversation than being quizzed as to how much you know. Some technical questions but also opportunity for a more generic conversation
