The process involved a few rounds, testing my content knowledge, and a teaching task. The entire staff was very friendly, and they were sure to include some of their core values.

Interview
My interview process was comprised of two interviews as well as an essay. The initial interview was done by the hiring team and the second by the head of the SPED department and an administrator. The hiring coordinator was very well organized and communicated expectations clearly and punctually throughout the process. Interview questions were focused on speech and language experience, school experience, committment to DEI, and skills that you can bring to the school. Interview questions with the administrators were focused on getting to understand what each party wanted and expected out of a job. They were very clear about what they could offer in terms of support and past reasons why speech-language pathologists had left in the past.

Interview
The process was thorough, though a bit unorganized. The job requirements Valor was seeking changed on three separate occasions during the process, leading to some confusion and what ended up being a waste of time.
Job posting encouraged applicants without teaching license to apply, changed after one interview to require a teaching license. The interviewer (Jessica) worked with me to find a similar position that explicitly stated that a teaching license was not required but after three weeks and a performance task, there verdict came back that they were now again requiring a teaching license. Jessica was great, the overall lack of clarity was not.
Interview is mostly focused on culture and not credentials, although credentials seem to play a bigger part in hiring decisions than they say.
