I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Varicent (Toronto, ON) in May 2026
Interview
This was one of the worst interview processes I have ever been through. In the first recruiter screening call, I was given no opportunity to ask a single question, which was the first red flag. Their outsourced recruiting team used automated emails signed off on by another persons name. Their scheduling links didn’t work and it was difficult to receive a response.
In the interview with the hiring manager, they were clearly unprepared and uninterested in the interview. They read from a printed list of questions and kept saying that they were required to ask these questions, but didn’t like them. They had done no research ahead of the call and asked questions based on pulling up my LinkedIn profile live. The manager had been in the role for a few months, but quite literally could not answer a single question about the company’s sales process, goals for the future and other basic questions. I received an automated rejection email signed off on by someone I had never met or spoken to.

Interview
Started with an HR screening, followed by a manager interview and technical round. The team was friendly, welcoming throughout the entire experience. I never heard back from HR after the technical interview.
Saludo cordial, luego preguntas sobre mi CV, luego preguntas dirigidas al rol. Duró 30 minutos la reunión y fue amigable. La persona de RH llegó con puntialidad a la reunión.
