I applied online. I interviewed at Varsity Tutors in Sept 2015
Interview
Like others on here have said, it was pretty simple. You apply and they let you pick a time next week for a phone interview. Mine was for an English tutor position. It lasted about six minutes and the friendly woman on the phone asked me about my availability, whether I had a vehicle, how I would handle a student with an essay prompt, and the definitions of allegory and irony. After a couple of days, I received an email saying that there weren't enough students in the area to continue with the interview process.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Can you tell me what "allegory" and "irony" are? How would you work with a student who brought you an essay prompt?
I applied online and then they set up an interview with me. The interviewer's questions were straightforward and I also got to ask questions about the job. There was clear follow up on the next steps in the interview process.
There was no interview process. We just got offer letters and I think its because they are still starting and up and all. But I think its a great opportunity to learn and teach.
