I interviewed for the Billing Specialist role at Vertex in May 2025. The experience started off a bit rocky — the recruiter didn’t have her camera on, had to pause mid-call for a personal appointment, and called me back by phone instead of Teams. She also didn’t seem fully prepared and wasn’t able to provide many details about the role.
The hiring manager was kind, detailed, and transparent about the role. However, the job title ‘Billing Specialist’ didn’t match the actual responsibilities — it’s more of a multifunctional support role in AR. The transparency during the interview helped clarify that, but the posting could’ve reflected that better.
I received a polite rejection the next day but no feedback. Overall, I appreciated the kindness of the people I met, but the process lacked clarity and structure. I’d suggest they improve transparency around the role and offer a more consistent candidate experience.
