I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Virginia Heart in Sept 2025
Interview
I applied online via Indeed, submitting my resume and CV. Within 24 hours, I received an email from VirginiaHeart stating I was moving forward and was invited to schedule an interview through their platform. I verified the email and link through their website to ensure it was legitimate.
When I attempted to schedule, there were no available dates — neither this month, next month, nor the entire year. The email stated that if no dates were available, I should contact the recruiting email, which I did. Three days later, I received the same automated “reminder” email, but still no dates were available. I followed up again per their instructions and received no response. Subsequently, my application was automatically marked as withdrawn on their website.
This process was confusing, unresponsive, and made it impossible to complete the interview as instructed.

Interview
I received an email for a “phone interview”: there were three options, (1) call in and you are given questions to answer, (2) sumbit a video response to questions you are given (3) schedule a phone interview with a real person. I opted for the phone interview with a real person, which went pretty smooth and we negotiated a range over the phone based on my experience and degree. I was called later for an hour shadowing session (which I thought was weird because I didn’t get an offer letter yet), and I scheduled a time to come into the office. I didn’t like how I was then asked to stay longer (most likely an extra 30 minutes) than the time we agreed upon (the person I spoke to over the phone stated “is that what they told you”), but I brushed past it. I then got a call from HR with an offer that was way lower than what was agreed upon over the phone interview. I wouldn’t have agreed to shadow and waste my time if I had known the position was going to be so low with a degree and years of experience. Complete waste of my time, I would avoid and look elsewhere. Please don’t waste your time

Interview
I received an email for a “phone interview”: there were three options, (1) call in and you are given questions to answer, (2) sumbit a video response to questions you are given (3) schedule a phone interview with a real person. I opted for the calling in and recording my responses to questions. A week later I was called for an “in person interview”. I went and first introduced to ALL the staff at the location, then spent one hour “shadowing” two women that worked in the front desk. Now, I was not made aware I would be shadowing anyone that day. I find that irresponsible and not mindful of the candidate’s time. After all that, I was taken back to the office manager and we discussed my job experiences, benefits, etc. It was the most bizarre interview I ever went to. A week passed by and I hadn’t heard back from anyone, so I emailed the recruiter who assisted in scheduling the interview and they never responded. I’m thankful I dodged this place, they seem unprofessional and lack communication and experience in hiring excellent candidates for a front desk receptionist position. The front desk receptionists that currently work there seemed bored, and eating in front of patients. A hot mess.
