      Cloud Engineer Interview

      14 Nov 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Sheffield, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Vivedia (Sheffield, England) in Oct 2024

      Interview

Vivedia's interview process consists of two stages: an initial interview over Teams and a face-to-face meeting at their HQ in Sheffield. The company dynamic is brilliant, showcasing a family-like culture and strong operational performance/stats. I met with a panel of four to five team members during the in-person interview in a meeting room. The atmosphere was great, and our discussion on various cloud-based topics naturally evolved into engaging conversations. I was genuinely impressed by their interest in my skills and how I could contribute to the company, which heightened my enthusiasm for the role. Two days after the interview, I was informed by the recruiter that I would not be moving forward in the process and that the company could not provide any feedback at that time. While this was disappointing, I understand that not every interview leads to an offer. A few weeks later, I noticed that the same position was reposted. I reapplied and reached out directly to express my continued interest. Unfortunately, I did not receive any response or feedback regarding my application or previous interview, which was quite disheartening. Investing time and effort into interviews is significant for candidates, and I believe that providing feedback even if it is just a brief explanation or a polite rejection can greatly enhance the candidate experience. It assists applicants in understanding how they might better align with the company's needs in the future. Overall, my initial interactions with Vivedia were positive, and the team seemed excellent. However, the subsequent lack of communication and feedback left me with mixed feelings about their recruitment process. I hope they consider improving their candidate engagement practices moving forward so others don't have the same disappointing experience.
