HR contacted me for a phone screen and about a week later, I met with the HR manager in person. She asked me some easy questions about handling conflict, past experience, etc. Later I got a tour of the newsroom and met people I would potentially be working under.

Met first with an HR rep then with a director. The initial interview was about my qualifications/experience then the second focused on what I was looking for in an internship and how I would handle certain situations in the newsroom
