I applied online. I interviewed at Warner Bros. Discovery (Ottawa, ON) in Oct 2025
Interview
I had two interviews processes with two different teams:
1) Got reached out by a recruiting contractor who works for WB who asks general questions. Had a technical screening test with another developer which was an algorithmic style question (not LC). Had 3 back to back 1 hour interviews, first was debugging code, second was talk with manager and cultural fit, last was system design but more OOP than typical cloud infrastructure. I say this because I autopiloted and talked about infrastructure instead of OOP aspects. After almost a month, I got rejected. Everyone I talked to and interviewed with were great, the primary issue was the lack of communication or reply from HR and it took more than a month to get my final rejection letter, but at least they sent it. So taking that into consideration I'd give it a 8/10.
2) I'm not sure what to make of the second reach out, an HR reached out to me, told me to schedule a 15 minute call, then the same day followed up by saying that because of the number of applicants, there'll be scheduling delays. This was just before Christmas, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt and assumed they would reach out to me after New Years. It's been almost 10 days since new years and even after sending a follow up email, they are still yet to help me schedule a meeting. So I guess the position has been closed? So for this one I didn't even get to meet the HR. So I would rate this 1/10.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
1) Algorithmic question
2) Debugging
3) System Design
Important to know that the questions vary by the team and their location, so unfortunately you have to prep for everything, i.e. debugging, Leetcode, system design (OOP + cloud infrastructure + DB concepts etc), technical deep dive and general questions. I've even seen mentions of take home assignments.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Warner Bros. Discovery (Bengaluru)
Interview
I voluntarily withdrew my candidacy in the middle of the interview process. During my rounds, the interviewer was openly dismissive and rude. I expected a higher standard from leadership, but the hiring manager unfortunately exhibited the same condescending behavior.
An interview is a two-way street; while a company evaluates a candidate's skills, candidates are also evaluating the company's culture. The lack of respect I experienced gave me a very clear glimpse into what the day-to-day working environment would be like. I simply could not see myself working alongside people who treat prospective team members this way, so I chose to walk away.
I applied online. I interviewed at Warner Bros. Discovery in Feb 2026
Interview
Warner Bros. Discovery interviews — especially for software/dev co-ops and early career roles — tend to feel more structured and professional than “big tech grind” interviews, but still technical. Overall average experience
I applied online. I interviewed at Warner Bros. Discovery (Burbank, CA)
Interview
Fair enough, it met my expectations. I interviewed for a Software Engineer role. The process included a coding test, data structures and algorithms questions, system design, and a behavioral interview.
