I applied online. I interviewed at Wavemaker Partners
Interview
I had a negative experience applying for a job here.
After spending nearly a month doing 4 interviews with the team, they extended me an offer, only to withdraw it 2 days later over email, and within the 7-day period I had to respond. According to them, not signing the agreement “within hours” of receiving it is a sign of disinterest in the role. They withdrew the offer over email and swiftly proceeded to void the agreement sent to me on DocuSign so I could no longer view the agreement.
They also viewed my request to visit the office, as “a sign that I am more interested in the environment than the core of the work that they do or learning”. All my interviews had been either over Zoom or in cafes. We spend > 8 hours in the office every day. I don’t think it was unreasonable to request to view the office.
They offered to have a call with me to explain why they withdrew their offer and were what I thought to be passive-aggressive about during the call, keeping their video turned off the entire time while speaking with me, and interrogating me litigation-style.
This struck me as very unprofessional and illogical. I got the impression that they are flaky when it comes to hiring, perhaps even a little defensive and close-minded.
Take my experience above for what you will. If this is how they treat prospective candidates, I highly suggest you think carefully about what this might mean about how you may be treated as an employee there if you choose to apply there for a job.
