There were a few aspects that stood out. While I've had interviews in the past with junior-level reps to handle the initial screening to filter out candidates based on basic qualifications and fit before involving senior team members to assess general competencies, cultural fit, and basic skills.
However in my case, neither the hiring manager nor the recruiter interviewed me. Based on what I gathered from the initial call, the interviewer seemed unprepared and didn’t know much about the role or expectations when I asked him.
During the interview, I noticed that the interviewer appeared somewhat reserved and formal. While this is not uncommon, it did seem as though their demeanor was impacted by internal company dynamics. I have reason to believe that the interviewer had also applied for the same position but was not selected.
Don't you think it would be better to have the initial interview with someone that's not affected by the decision made by the management for unbiased evaluation for the role?
