What do you know about Schlumberger? Did HR tell you about the Company?

Schlumberger is a huge company. I told the interviewer everything I knew. I was also asked if somebody from HR had talked to me about the position. I told the interviewer no, since it was a contract position. The person conducting the interview was not from the U.S. This was his first time interviewing anybody in the U.S. He didn't understand what a contract position meant, and couldn't understand why nobody from HR had given me any background information on the position. The interviewer interpreted this as me being unprepared. My interview was 8 minutes, and I was escorted to the elevator to leave the building after only 3 questions. If the hiring manager knows so little about a hiring process, and doesn't know the difference between a full-time and contract position, I'm glad I wasn't made a offer as I would have rejected it anyways. My only regret is that I wasted time off of work for the interview. It was a complete waste of my time, and eye opening as to how little management in that company actually knows about their own internal processes.
