Interview
To be honest, my experience interviewing with Williamsburg was exhausting. Be prepared to go through very extensive rounds, which got to the point of it being a bit ridiculous. The first phone screen was very casual. After that, I was set up with a 1:1 with the CEO. That went alright but felt the questions asked were a bit aggressive. I left that meeting feeling disappointed by not having much time to ask questions myself. It felt more like an interrogation rather than it being a fluid conversation. I then was asked to meet with the COO the following day (the CEO joined in for this interview as well). Once again, I felt like I was being interrogated where I was solely trying to "prove myself to them" rather than them trying to make the company appealing for the candidate. I was then asked to complete an assessment, which took about 20-30 minutes. A few days later, I received a call from the COO at 4:15 pm asking me to jump on a zoom conference with the entire admin team at 6:00 pm. I felt like my time was not being respected with them expecting me to drop everything with less than a 2-hour notice. The COO called my phone twice and also texted me within a 10-minute window scrambling to see if I could make time for the interview. I politely said I was unavailable at that time and asked for it to be scheduled the next morning. The team zoom meeting the following day was extremely awkward. 8 employees were on the call (YES! 8!!!) and it felt like, once again, an interrogation. The questions asked from the employees felt like they were just reading off of a script. At the end of that round, the COO mentioned they were trying to decide between 3 candidates and would get back to me shortly. I left the final round uninterested in joining the company if an offer was presented. Here are a few red flags I noticed during the process: During each round, they would schedule my interviews without first seeing if that particular date/time worked for my schedule. I felt this was quite unprofessional and it made me wonder how they may treat their employees. The other red flag was the severe lack of diversity within the company. I also found it odd how I was continuously being told they were trying to decide who to pick for the position. My recommendation is to trust your instincts if they feel off. It’s odd feeling like you’re being interrogated to work for a company that doesn’t even have health benefits and seems to lack the “fun” company culture they continuously boasted about. Luckily I received a rejection offer from the CEO notifying me they had offered the role to another candidate. Overall, the process felt extremely excessive for the type of role they were looking to fill.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What drew you to our company? How would you handle "X" scenario? What is important to you in your next role? Lots of behavioral questions for them to examine your past experience.

Interview
1. Phone Screen-Was pleasant and asked basic questions regarding the ability to do the role
2. Interview with CEO and COO-Asked similar questions regarding the ability to perform the job. Was asked to be honest and truthful about who you are as a person and what you bring to the table.
3. Kolbe Assessment (Personality)-20-30 minute assessment that asks you what you would "most likely" do and "least likely" do in a situation. It is important not to think as the role would require you, but as you are.
4. Debrief with CEO about assessment-Dug deeper into the results of the assessment. You had to explain why you agreed or disagreed with the results and how that was or wasn't really you. The time allotted for this debrief did not seem fair as it was interesting to speak to the results of the assessment that you as the interviewee were not trained or certified to assess. Would have been nice to gain the perspective of the CEO of the results instead of having to explain them to him.
5. Panel Interview with Admin Team-COO reached out 2 hours prior asking for an interview the same day regardless of the interviewee's schedule or time. Was asked to be authentic regarding you as a person. Encouraged to open up and provide a layer of transparency that is not usually asked for in an interview. Created the "Culture of Belonging" environment that was preached throughout the interviewing process. Was told that they would be making their decision within the next 24 hours.
6. Offer/Rejection-24 hours came and went with no communication. 48 hours later was informed that they were moving forward with another candidate.
*Feedback-went over on time for several of the interviews because it seemed like the Leadership did not grasp what an HR Professional does. Later was critiqued on providing too much in detail information.
*Note to Employer: Do not promote/preach a "Culture of Belonging" if that is not what you are about when it comes to your people. Diversify, Include, and develop Equity in your hiring process.
