      Senior Research Manager Interview

      11 May 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Wondrium

      Interview

I had two separate interviews. The first interview was with the hiring manager. The second interview was a four-part, three-hour session with various staff members, including the hiring manager (again). The process was very thorough and straightforward. About a week after interviewing, I was informed that the job description was being rewritten and that I was no longer under consideration. The job listing then remained on the website – with no changes. Two months later someone was hired to fill this position. About a month after concluding my interview process, the company posted the new job description, which now matched that of the hiring manager. It remains posted on the company website as of this writing sixth months later. It is clear that this area of the company is going through upheaval.

      Question 1

The questions were the standard battery one would expect for a research manager, digging into my background, strengths, and weaknesses. There were no surprises. I was also presented with a research scenario and asked how I would handle the request.
