The first round was an initial screening with the recruiter and I really enjoyed speaking with her.
I took the time to complete the technical portion of the interview even before it was assigned to me to be proactive, and even with that, I really did not enjoy the conversation I had with the hiring manager. For one, I was told I would be speaking with just the hiring manager, but one of the engineers joined the call by surprise. I didn't mind that but I would've appreciated them letting me knowing who's actually going to be on the call beforehand.
The hiring manager seemed to be uninterested in me the moment the conversation started. When I said I had already went through the quickstart guide, looked up what SAML was, had uploaded my project on GitHub, and studied other terminology on my own, she didn't bat an eye. With some of her questions it sounded like she was intentionally trying to stump me or get me to misspeak.
As other reviews have mentioned, even if I got through that round, there were going to be several other rounds including a live round where they pretend they're the customer, referrals, and talking to the CEO.
