I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at X
Interview
Coding challenge followed by first phone interview. If you do well at that it is followed by 4 back to back interviews (3 technical, 1 behavioral). I aced all of my interviews, with the interviewers telling me how great I did, and that I finished 10 minutes before they expected. They seemed super positive and almost ensured me I'd get the job. A few days later, I get an automated email from some recruiter saying I've been rejected but that they couldn't give me feedback. Overall, it was quite obvious that they rejected me due to not being from a "target school" of theirs.
I really wouldn't recommend accepting an offer from them anyway. Look at their stocks, and growth rates. They are abysmal. They are also in the midst of layoffs. I was told by people inside that it is highly likely that the internship program will be cancelled either due to budget cuts or a possible acquisition before this summer.
The worst part of my rejection is that I actually have experience in Scala, the language they use and my interviews went perfectly.
Interview questions [5]
Question 1
Given a directory of files and folders. Go through and return all the phone numbers that are contained in the files. (Initial Interview)
You're given a large file that contains sorted log messages. Each log message is a timestamp followed by a log message. Given a range of timestamps, find all the log messages within the timestamp range.
Phone screen, followed by two coding rounds, one system design, and one HM/behavioral round. Prepare with LeetCode tagged questions related to data structures, algorithms, and system design topics. Prepare for Behavioural in STAR method.
Went through two screenings and virtual onsite. Technical team members were friendly and great to speak with. Recruiters were pretty awful - the one that set up the virtual onsite gave everybody different zoom links and trying to find the correct room to join really cut into my interview time and made me stressed out during the VO. Main recruiter scheduled a phone call to discuss results after the VO for when it was past midnight in my timezone but never called or responded to my followup.
To the recruiter: you don't need to try to keep me warm by scheduling a phone call and ghosting me when I only asked you whats the decision timeline. If its rejection just email to let me know instead of wasting more of my time especially when its late in my timezone.
In general this would've been a positive experience if the recruiters weren't so bad.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at X (London, England) in Apr 2025
Interview
Ho effettuato un colloquio conoscitivo con HR dopodiché una sessione di live coding e domande tecniche con il responsabile dell'area. Domande vertevano su vari algoritmi e complessità in termini di tempo e spazio
