I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at XY Planning Network in Jul 2024
Interview
I submitted a video answering impromptu questions then had a screening interview. From what I understand there would be at least 3 additional interviews after that.
The part that frustrated me was after completing two interview steps I was told "Unfortunately, at this time, we decided to proceed with our selection process with other candidates that meet our position requirements more closely.
We will keep your resume in our talent database, and when we have a job opening that better fits your profile, we will make sure to get in touch with you."
I pushed for additional feedback because according to my resume I was qualified for the role. The response was "Yes, of course. You are correct, you have 80% of the experience needed for the position, which is why you were moved forward in the hiring process. We were ultimately fortunate to have a great selection of candidates, including you!
From that pool, we looked at the role holistically and selected the candidates who best fit where we are at.
You were not lacking any specific skill set per se, and you are a great candidate but we ultimately went with the candidates who best met us where we believe the position is at/headed."
I pushed again and she said unfortunately I don't have any actionable feedback for you. The whole process felt like a huge waste of time. If you're going to put someone through a two step interview process you should be prepared to provide some feedback.
Thank you for your feedback. Ultimately, in the final stages of the process, the decision is often a 'relative' one: which candidate is closer to what the company's needs are. And to discuss that more openly would require divulging confidential candidate info about others in the process, which we cannot do.
This is the unfortunate part of the recruiting process: some times there is no better answer than "the person we chose more closely aligned to our needs". I'm sorry that this led to you having a negative experience, and we will continue to look at ways to be more transparent in our processes where possible.
I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at XY Planning Network (Bozeman, MT) in Jun 2024
Interview
I was contacted to pre-record answers to a few initial interview questions. There were approximately 6 questions long, and I was given 1-2 minutes each to answer each question. You could restart your recording if needed, and there was no rush on when to begin your recording after being prompted with the question. The informational video that played beforehand was helpful.

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at XY Planning Network (Bozeman, MT)
Interview
The process was long and thorough with at least 4 interviews and a work sample. This seems the be the case across the board for all departments. They ask questions about your understanding of the company and the industry as a whole.
