I was brought in for a face to face interview with the Director of Operations after applying directly and conducting a brief phone call. The interview was short and to the point and focused more so on my personal background more than my technical relevance to the position. After a short interview I was given a tour of the DataCenter. After which I met the NOC staff that was on shift and went on my way.
I received a call back within days and an official offer followed shortly thereafter. The rapid process should have been a tip-off to the dysfunctional nature of the work environment.
Background check and urinalysis were required but not until after I had accepted and begun my position. I know of at least one person who was able to remain employed without submitting to the drug test.
