Standard interview the first time. Talked to me about my experience writing technical copy. At the end of the interview, I was given a list of talking points the company wanted to create content for in coming months. Each interviewer was very nice and seemed like a cool person to work with/under.
Second interview was kind of like 2 interviews in one. First half was with the digital marketing director, and the second half was with the overall VP of marketing. Felt like I repeated a lot of the same information.
The biggest concern I had during the interview was when I asked what their strategy was to clarify muddled messaging for some of their new products. Several times, I was lectured on how journalists and others don't "get" what they're trying to do, but they never clearly articulated a plan to change how their product is perceived. (If no one "gets" your product, the issue is with your messaging, not reporters.)
Overall seemed like a decent company to work with, but some concerns about corporate image self-awareness.
When I got the offer, though, it was about $20k/year less than what I'd been led to believe in the interview. (This was particularly surprising as the interview made it seem like the skills needed would be more than entry-level.) The offer email said there "may" be a possibility of a raise in the near future, but I've seen too many Utah companies dangle similar carrots only to never deliver. (Seems to be common practice in this state, unfortunately.) I declined the offer.
