Some questions on why I want to join and what do I know about China etc. I was asked to prepare a talk but I wasn’t asked to present anything in the end
First, they ask you to give a standard presentation about your job market paper. Then, they ask you about research projects, teaching plans. Some follow up questions. Your preference to relocate to Xiamen. Requirements to get tenure.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Xiamen University (San Diego, CA) in Jan 2020
Interview
The interviewers are divided into three groups. There is only one group for economics. There are in general 5-6 interviewees. They are quite professional. They will ask you to briefly summarize your job market paper. There are a few clarification question following your introduction. Then they will ask about your teaching preferences.
