The recruiting process itself was fairly standard, but communication between interview rounds could have been more transparent. There were extended periods without follow-ups, which made the overall experience feel less clear at times.

Question 1
How have you used data to influence your decisions?
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Yahoo (Sunnyvale, CA) in May 2010
Interview
Interviewed with a half dozen or so Yahoos! Interview styles ranged from friendly and conversational to a more intense and inquisitive style. Some interviewers had stronger and more specific questions than others, but overall it was a sound give and take and I left with a good impression of the team, program, and company.

Question 1
What is the right strategy for Yahoo! to beat Google and Facebook?
It was a very straightforward interview process. I did a short phone screener with HR and then met with the hiring manager via Zoom. The questions were everything you'd expect - past experience, situational questions, etc.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Yahoo (Taipei)
Interview
First HR phone call ( around 1 hr), then hiring manager (anround 1 hr) and take home test plus a group interview. Will last for 1 month cos the salary process needs US approval.
