The selection process will consist of two rounds:
1. Online Coding Round – A technical assessment focused on your core tech stack.
2. Hiring Manager Interview (Online) – A virtual interview with the hiring manager to discuss technical depth, problem-solving approach, and alignment with the role.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Yahoo (New York, NY) in Jul 2022
Interview
Applied online, spoke with a recruiter. Took about a week and a half to get scheduled for technical screen. One thing I've noticed is if the recruiters are not top notch and doing everything they can for you, it might not be somewhere you want to work
The technical interview was normal, I just wished my recruiter let me know more on what to expect. I was caught off guard with random Java & SQL questions
The interviewer was a manager and I wished I would've gotten anyone else. He just seemed...uninterested the entire time.
We did a coding problem together and I was trying my best to involve him and make it a collaborative experience, but he just wasn't interested.
I solved the question with ease and he didn't even follow up with time or space questions
But if we're honestly speaking, that's not a "fun" manager I would be excited to work with. Got the decline email two days after solving the coding question

Question 1
Broad Java questions. coding question using hashmap
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Yahoo
Interview
The hiring manager did not show up at our originally scheduled meeting time. We rescheduled. The HM name dropped a bunch of big tech companies that they worked for in the past. It felt like the HM was hoping for me to provide a similar list of familiar brand names ... which was odd considering their supposed desire for more startup-y people.

Question 1
Tell me about a challenging project that you worked on.
The process was expected compared to most comparable jobs. Demonstrate and know your coding and you will do fine. The interview was fair and the hiring managers were all tech savvy. I accepted a different development position with another company a few days after the interview. It was a good experience overall.
