I had a phone interview for a management position and the interview seemed to go well. We spoke for about 30 minutes. It wasn't a bad experience. The interviewer said I would hear back about next steps and the next round of interviews, but instead I got an email letting me know they had chosen to go with someone else. I talked to a colleague who works for the program, just for feedback about why they chose not to move forward with me and was told they were looking for someone with many years of upper management experience- which I didn't have. That was fine, but it was little frustrating to know they'd knowingly wasted my time. My resume was pretty clear so I wasn't sure why they interviewed me in the first place if I didn't meet their (unwritten) requirements.
