Took independent study and was offered a job. Not much of an interview process aside from filling out paperwork and having to deal with HR and onboarding. HR is a pain and if you're not top of it you will be delayed in getting paid.

Do you want to work here? Yes. I was already in the lab all the time might as well get paid. This is a job that is generally extended to you after doing summer research or independent study or a combination. Plus points if you're trying to apply for a Ph.D. and need the experience.
