Phone screening, after that interview with two developers. The interview with the developers was very pleasant and I have no remarks in that part. However I had negative experience with the recruiter who led the process. I got positive feedback on the technical interview, and two weeks after that I was asked about the salary expectations. I had already presented my salary expectations in the first screening interview, so I just repeated them. Then I was told it was too much for them, and I should contact them if I wanted to discuss further. I really liked the company so I said I would be willing to go lower and asked what was their offer. Instead of that, I got somewhat arrogant response how people should be paid in a far way and they cannot advise me what to ask in terms of pay ???? I don't know what their expectations are when it comes to salary, since I basically asked for the same amount I already have at my current workplace and I think it's normal for the IT industry. I believe there were many ways to handle the salary dispute, moreover since I had already presented my expectations during the screening interview. However the recruiter choose a very poor approach.
