The actual interview process was exemplary. The hiring manager talked over some basic skills needed to do the job. I felt that adequately conveyed my skill level and willingness to keep learning for any deficiency I had. The manager and I left the call feeling good about our conversation. But starting from the beginning, When I applied to the specific jobs that matched my skill sets, HR kept asking me to apply for other jobs that were not in my skill set. The communication with HR was only done through email. I was never given a phone number to call. This whole process felt very impersonal and disconnected. Before learning any of my skill sets or job interests in a specific position, HR wanted to know the salary I was looking for. This disconnect kept occurring when working with HR all through the application process. On the job site, I did expect to see Not Selected for the jobs I did apply for, but for the job I interviewed for, it says the Candidate declined. I had not declined and was waiting for the following technical interview. I wish the HR people had just called. It could have helped out with the disconnections.
