I interviewed with Zscaler for a benefits related role and found the recruitment experience quite disappointing. Communication was inconsistent and impersonal throughout, with key updates either delayed or completely missed due to issues with the SmartRecruiters system they use. While a polite follow up was eventually received, it came only after I proactively found the talent director on linked and chased for an update. The process lacked the professionalism and care that reflects a company truly invested in its people. Candidate experience should be a priority, especially for a company hiring for roles that focus on employee wellbeing and this did not come across during the hiring journey. Technology issues aside, there was little effort to create a positive or engaging interaction. It felt transactional, not thoughtful which left me with concerns about what the internal culture might be like. Based on this experience, I would not be open to future opportunities with Zscaler and would encourage the company to re-evaluate how it manages candidate communication and overall recruitment experience.
