      Full Stack Developer Interview

      21 Apr 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Zuper

      Interview

One of the most terrible interview processes I have been a part of. Had one culture fit round of sorts with a person who called from the US. He later scheduled a technical round with one of their developers. I felt pretty confident that I aced it. It looked like the final round. After a week's time. I got a message on whatsapp where the person who I spoke to at first asked me if I was ready to settle for a lower CTC than what I mentioned as expected and be given stock options. No numbers were discussed per se. So I said that it depends on the opportunity and the actual offer! They went back, took another 10 days time, and decided they had to put me through another round with the CTO and a senior software engineer, which I believe I did fairly well. I was even told I could choose between the offices in Bangalore or Chennai. But I was ghosted again! All a candidate expects is a mail or a call conveying me where they stand, not left in the dark like this! One of my friends who was interviewed here for a more senior role was evaluated for lesser rounds than I was! The process is so random and the communication is so poor! Wound not recommend this place to anyone!

      Question 1

Round 0: Briefing Round 1: Problem solving Round 2: Build apis on node service for a To Do app. Then a system design question - like schema design for a use case!

      20 May 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Zuper in May 2023

      Interview

The process took around 3 weeks. 1st round : Hackerrank test to check specific skills 2nd round : Interview with developer (Lead) 3rd round : Interview with Chief Architect The experience was quiet good till third round . HR communicated timings well and the 3rd round had to be rescheduled at last minute and I was fine with it. In third round, I was informed by interviewer that I may have one more round and info will be communicated by HR . I did pretty well and was quite sure would get a call . But three days passed without any feedback/info and got a mail at last that I didnot get selected for next round and that individual feedback couldnot be provided . This left me confused since after clearing many rounds spread out through a month and expecting to sail through , I get a mail without even a feedback . Makes us wonder if they really wanted to hire us in first place or they had plans to just hire an extra candidate as backup only to eliminate them at last maybe the bitter experience is just with me , or it happens to fellow interviewees too . All that we expect is a reason for elimination and it can be even straight to face - that performance not adequate or position is not required anymore. Genuine feedback though not pleasant to hear is better than no feedback. A company with good culture should reflect this in hiring process also or maybe I'm asking too much !
